More to Live For

This is a powerful movie that needs to be seen...
I have a personal connection to this movie, so it is certainly biased. I knew Michael Brecker for close to 25 years and valued our friendship immensely. His passing is a real tragedy, but it has inspired his widow, Susan, to create a Masterful Piece of Cinematic reporting.

Telling the story from the perspectives of 3 individuals and their search for a compatible bone marrow donor is an excellent way to present the material. One successful match, One who is still searching, and sadly Michael's unsuccessful attempt to find his own donor. The goal of the movie is to get as many of us to sign up and be placed on the marrow donor registry as possible. It's a very simple test, and when the time comes to actually donate, it's a basic procedure.

It's a good thing to see the movie, but more importantly, become listed on the registry. This movie will explain much better than I can about the how and why.

Inspiring and Informational
This movie is definitely worth watching. It was both inspiring and gave me insight into the lives of individuals dealing with leukemia. I was not aware that this type of cancer was so dependent on finding another person to donate their marrow. The information provided in the movie helped to destroy the myths I had previously learned about the bone marrow donation match process and the donation process itself. I have had personal experience with watching friends go through treatment for cancer. One friend is currently a cancer survivor and the other was taken by the disease. I was reminded of their struggles while watching the stories of the men in this movie. I am amazed by the persistence of these individuals to hold drives to potentially save their own lives and numerous others. After watching this movie I plan to get screened and placed on the donor registry.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!
This was amazing. I am honored and privileged to call Seun a friend and a mentor. This documentary just further solidifies what I know about Seun. He is an incredible person. I had no idea about the journey Seun took in regards to his leukemia. I am glad this documentary gave me the opportunity to somewhat witness the struggles that he had to deal with on a day-to-day basis.

This is great to me on so many levels because in the midst of doing all these incredible things, training and his ongoing recovery, Seun still found time to tutor me for my LSAT examination whenever he came back home, Huntsville, AL. HE IS A BEAST! He is an incredibly smart and determined man, so I knew I was in good hands in regards to my examination preparation. Seeing this documentary just makes me appreciate and love Seun even more for the time and effort he spent helping me. He did not have to do it. From seeing this documentary, he clearly had more important things going on in his life...
