Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure

Excellent! Far exceeded my expectations!!
I'll admit, when I first heard about this documentary I was a bit skeptical. While Kirk Cameron has always struck me as a very sincere person, he wasn't someone I was expecting to do a serious documentary. However, this documentary really exceeded my expectations! Cameron's sincerity and and passion brings a lot of energy to the this film.

"Monumental" was filled with interesting content, much of which I had never heard before. This was quite surprising considering the fact have a Bachelor's Degree in History from a well known state university! Frustrated with the current state of our country, Cameron seeks to understand the foundations of the United States. To accomplish this, he travels to places like England and Holland in search of a deeper understanding of the Pilgrims and then back to New England to understand the foundations of America. He discovers what once made this nation great and something that can chart the course for a new generation of Americans...

Incredible
Monumental is incredible! Didn't really dawn on me that my generation (pre-1963) was the last to receive even part of the truth in education of the Puritan's plight. I remember at least seeing photos in our history books of people in England who fell asleep in church, in "stocks" and read of their tortures because of the Government-run church and the church as the mouthpiece for the government. Kirk does a remarkable job of telling this story. Not one single person born after 1963 should be without this. It could change a nation! Excellent, just excellent!

Great Documentary
The movie was enlightning and educational. I would highly recommend this movie for anyone who wants to know more about our founding fathers. It's a great movie for kids as well.
